Military Service: Chancey (also spelled Chauncey) Alderman served as a private from August 24 to November 11, 1812, in Captain Asa Hutchins' Company, 3rd (Hayes') Regiment, Ohio, Militia, during the War of 1812. Capt. Hutchins' company contained many men from Vienna Township.

Chancey Alderman was the fourth son of Timothy Alderman, Jr., and his wife Ruth Hart, who settled in Vienna Township in or about 1804. The Alderman farm was located on Warner Road.

Chancey Alderman is listed on the 1810 Ohio Tax List.

Chancey Alderman married Betsey Williams on March 6, 1811.

Alderman and his wife Betsey were living in Vienna Township when the 1860 Federal Census was taken.
