Lewis Alderman Tyler married Rhoda Griffis, January 7, 1836 in Vienna Township, Trumbull County, Ohio.

Rhoda was the daughter of John Griffis & Elizabeth Culver, and was born December 19, 1810 in Burlington, Hartford, Connecticut.

Lewis and Rhoda had 8 children; John J, Elizabeth, Mary A, Able L, Lewellen A, Minor, Rhoda & Sylvia. The family is listed in the 1850 United States Census, Ohio, Trumbull County, Vienna Township, along with Rhoda’s father John Griffis.

In 1854 Lewis and Rhoda Tyler moved to Grant Township, Grant, Wisconsin. Bought a farm Dec 1854 in Mt Hope Township, next to Grant Township, Grant, Wisconsin for $100.
