The Cottage Inn was known to have been in existence from at least 1973 until 1974.
The sign at the front of the building boasted "home style cooking" and "truckers welcome."
Brenda (Schieffer) Robb, patron of the forestaurant, recalls, "I remember spinning on the round counter seats, eating chocolate cake donuts, and drinking chocolate milk there."
After the Cottage Inn Restaurant closed, it became the original Yankee Kitchen location in 1975. The building stood in the area where the Pitt Stop Brew Thru sits today (2026).
