Coal Miners' School

The Coal Miners' School (also called the Workman School) was established during the 1870s coal boom in Vienna Township. Organized by the miners themselves, this school met in a two-story building one-half mile south of Woodford's Corners on the east side of Sodom-Hutchins (now Sodom-Hutchings) Road and 200 feet up the lane of the former Eli Taiclet farm.
